Toyo Sasaki Yachiyo Kiln Sake Glass – Hanamizake, Handblown Edo Glass 85ml
In Japan, Hanamizake means sake drunk beneath the cherry blossoms — a moment of beauty, brevity, and quiet joy. This glass was made for exactly that feeling, whether the cherry trees are in bloom or not.
The Glass
The flared rim opens wide, releasing the full fragrance of the sake as it reaches your lips — a form that makes drinking a sensory experience, not just a habit. Red lines rise vertically through the clear glass like the slender branches of a cherry tree in early spring, while gold leaf scattered between them catches the light like petals just beginning to fall. Handblown at the Yachiyo Kiln, each piece is formed individually — the precise placement of red and gold shifts subtly from cup to cup, making every glass its own.
Who It's For
For the sake lover who appreciates beauty in the vessel as much as in the drink. For anyone who wants to bring a touch of Japanese seasonal culture to their table — or give it as a gift that carries meaning beyond the occasion. Presented in the Yachiyo Kiln signature black gift box, it arrives ready to give.
Craftsmanship
Each piece is individually handblown by master glassblowers at the Yachiyo Kiln using Edo glass techniques — a tradition of Tokyo glassblowing certified as a traditional Japanese craft. The red and gold decoration is applied by hand during the blowing process, fused into the glass itself rather than painted on the surface.
