Unlike printed or sprayed imitation finishes, this tumbler is coated by a skilled lacquer artisan, one piece at a time. Urushi is a natural lacquer that hardens gradually through exposure to humidity, and its tone continues to settle and richen for approximately 3.5–6 months after completion — part of the appeal of owning a genuine urushi piece.
