Shizuhamono Petty Knife 120mm (4.7″) - Stainless Steel
A small knife for the moments that happen at the table.
The Shizu Hamono Morinoki Petty Knife is made for slicing fruit, plating desserts, and the quiet details of everyday hospitality. Slim, graceful, and light in hand, it is the knife you reach for when precision matters more than power.
The Blade
A gently curved, slender stainless steel blade follows the shape of the fruit, making clean, controlled cuts. At 120mm, it is compact enough for peeling and trimming in hand, and elegant enough to sit on the table.
Where It Shines
| Occasion | Best For | Why It Works |
|---|---|---|
| Slicing Fruit | Apples, pears, citrus, berries | Slender, curved blade follows the shape of the fruit |
| Peeling & Trimming | Small fruits and vegetables | Compact 120mm blade works comfortably in hand |
| Dessert Plating | Cakes, fruit plates | Fine, light blade for clean cuts |
| At the Table | Serving fruit to guests | Refined look, ready to bring to the table |
Craftsmanship
The square handle is made from solid zelkova (keyaki), a hardwood prized in Japan for its fine grain and durability. Its flat sides sit securely in the fingers, and the natural wood grain gives each knife a slightly different character, so no two handles look exactly alike.
Care & Maintenance
Hand wash only with mild detergent and dry immediately after washing. Avoid dishwashers to protect the solid wood handle.
